The Seven Lucky Gods by Wada Sanzo (1883 - 1968)

Original Wada Sanzo (1883 - 1968) Japanese Woodblock Print
The Seven Lucky Gods

Comments - Charming image of three of Japan's beloved Seven Lucky Gods. At top, the Goddess Benzaiten plays a lute. At bottom, Hotei relaxes against his giant bag of treasure. Behind him, Jurojin is accompanied by a spotted deer. At upper left, Bishamonten, the God of War, frowns angrily as he grips a pole arm, wearing armor and a helmet. Nicely drawn with bold calligraphic line work and soft gradations of gray. A rare Wada Sanzo design, published by Kyoto Hanga-in.

Artist - Wada Sanzo (1883 - 1968)

Image Size - 14 5/8" x 9 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - Nice color and detail.
