Native Customs of Japan - Interesting design from a portfolio of 12 prints depicting traditional Japanese customs, also known as "Folk Customs of Japan." Leading contemporary artists who were members of the Nihon Kanga Kyokai (Japan Print Artists Society) contributed prints, including Kyoshi Saito, Junichiro Sekino, Azechi Umetaro, and Maekawa Senpan. Each artist carved the blocks for his own print, which was then printed by Takamizawa. Several of the artists illustrated festivals or customs from their native towns, subjects not often seen. An interesting and rare modern series.

Artist - Junichiro Sekino (1914 - 1988)

Image Size - 9 3/8" x 7" + margins as shown

Condition - Good detail. Some prints have slight rippling at top corners from original mounting.
