Noblemen and Young Man in Conversations

Events from the life of Toyotomi Hideyoshi - Interesting small format series featuring events relating to the life of the great warrior Toyotomi Hidyoshi, who is considered Japan's second unifier. This great series depicts Hideyoshi, his retainers, and enemies, some shown in combat while others appear in quieter moments. Each subject is framed by a red border with yellow gourds, a reference to Hideyoshi's gourd ensign. He began using the gourd as a symbol following a daring attempt to sneak into the Saito clan's castle at Gifu. Once inside, he and his retainers raised gourds on bamboo poles to signal the troops outside to attack, and the plan was successful due to Hideyoshi's courage and ingenuity. The first time we've seen these vibrantly colored and nicely detailed subjects.
