The Huge Battle at Anegawa, 1883 - Dramatic scene from the Battle of Anegawa of Honda Heihachiro Tadakatsu on foot fighting Magara Jurozaemon Naotaka on horseback. At right, Tadakatsu stands his ground as the horse leaps straight at him, wielding an iron club with both hands. Naotaka twists in the saddle, gripping his sword above his head with both hands. Scattered rocks cover the ground, and the Anegawa River can be seen in the distance. A dynamic composition.
