Comments - Interesting scene of military officers and generals visiting the Ise Shrines, wearing dress uniforms and caps as they sit on chairs around the room. A few noblemen wear court dress. In the center, a miko or shrine maiden holds a red lacquer tray with scrolls on it. Oddly, she wears the same black boots as the men. Other Imperial Army officers wait in a small room at upper right. A fascinating design with wonderful detail, including burnishing on the black uniforms and caps. The first time we've seen this design.

Artist - Shogetsu (born about 1800)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 28 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - Nice color and good detail. Vertical and diagonal folds, creasing throughout.
