Ueno Park, Thirtieth Anniversary of the Transfer of the Capital, 1898

Comments - Charming scene of beauties in a procession at Ueno Park during a celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the transfer of the capital from Kyoto to Tokyo. Women in colorful kimono stroll along carrying umbrellas, a banner waving high in the sky above. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the black kimono. An interesting historic subject.

Artist - Meiji era artist (unsigned)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/4" + margins as shown

Condition - Good color and detail. Small repair, light creasing throughout.
