Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Daiichi National Bank

Comments - Terrific depiction of the Daiichi or First National Bank, the first private bank in Japan, in the Mitsugumi House at Kabuto-cho, Kaiunbashi Bridge. The Western-style lower floors were topped with a miniature castle reflecting shogunate style, complete with a tiled roof. In the foreground, a horse drawn carriage, rickshaw, and pedestrians cross the modern stone bridge. Nicely composed.

Artist - Meiji era artist (unsigned)

Image Size - 8 3/8" x 12 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - Good color and detail. Vertical centerfold, folds at corners. Losses at edges, repaired. Creasing at center.
