A List of Noted Places at the Second National Industrial Exposition at Ueno Park, 1881

Comments - Great panoramic view of the Second National Industrial Exposition at Ueno Park, with a procession making its way along a curving street in the center. Soldiers on horseback carrying pennants are followed by horse-drawn carriages, with crowds lining the street and Japanese flags framing doorways. The procession will pass under a large clock tower with a Western clock as it approaches a modern brick building with glass windows. Shinobazu Pond can be seen at lower left, with a torii gate and stairs leading to a shrine nestled among the trees at left. Cherry trees covered with bright pink blossoms add lively color to the expansive scene. An interesting historic subject.
