Comments - Wonderful spring scene of Takechiyo, the son of the second Tokugawa Shogun Hidetada, and other boys in procession walking through a beautiful palace garden overlooking a lake. The young prince marches along at left, wearing a black kimono tucked into red hakama pants. Two boys follow carrying bows wrapped in cloth, with a child riding a hobbyhorse and a dog on a leash coming after them. Several beauties accompany the group, one serving as sword bearer. Nicely detailed with soft bokashi shading, burnishing on the black kimono and arrow case, and a burnished geometric pattern on Takechiyo's blue kimono. A great image with fine color, and a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji rising in the distance with two lucky cranes flying overhead, framed by pink and white cherry blossoms.
