Series; Famous Places in Tokyo

Distant View of Mansei Bridge, 1878 - Interesting scene of the Meiji Empress and ladies-in-waiting in a chrysanthemum garden. At left, the Empress holds a fan and wears a small headdress. Her companions wear colorful kimono over white under robes tucked into red pants, each with her long hair pulled back into a ponytail trailing over her back. A row of clouds separates the figures from a view of Mansei Bridge over the Kanda River in the distance, with a procession making its way across the stone structure. An attractive design.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 1/4" + top margin as shown
