Evening Cherry Blossoms; Flower Contest among the Geisha Houses, 1889

Comments - Terrific scene of three courtesans enjoying a stroll beneath blossoming cherry trees. The beauty in the center wears a fantastic black kimono patterned with a dragon and flames, her obi featuring a tiger in a bamboo grove. The woman at right holds a white wig with a fan and peony blossom like those used by lion dancers, a rooster with colorful tailfeathers decorating her red kimono. A beautiful design, with large colorful figures, fine line work in the hair, and embossing on the white kimono collars and white wig. The first time we've offered this Kunichika beauty design.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 28 1/2" + margins as shown
