A Contest of Flowers, Kanda Festival - Handsome kabuki portrait from a group of prints depicting actors at the Kanda Matsuri or Kanda Festival, one of the three major Shinto festivals in Tokyo. Each character is shown in costume taking part as a performer, dressed in colorful kimono to walk in procession. A cloud-like border separates the figure from a lively background depicting festival floats parading through the streets. Vibrant jewel-tone color and wonderful detail brings this joyous celebration to life.
