Series; Righteous Women of the Suikoden (Gijo suikoden)

Beauty with a Sword in Her Obi - Interesting kabuki portrait of a beauty lifting a dotted cloth above her head as she looks up, her other hand resting atop a sword tucked into her plaid obi. She wears a boldly patterned blue-violet and white kimono over a red tie-dyed under robe, her hair pulled back into a knot at the side of her neck. A few loose hairs framing her face give her a somewhat disheveled appearance. An expressive figure detailed with fine line work in the hair. A rarely seen Kunichika series depicting based on the Chinese novel "The Water Margin" or "Suikoden" in Japanese.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 9 1/2"

Condition - Nice detail. Vertical centerfold, a couple wrinkles.
