Snow, Moon, Flower, 1873

Comments - Intriguing kabuki triptych of men and women performing a nunozarashi dance, waving rippling streamers of cloth through the air in a scene from "Snow, Moon, Flower" at the Nakamura Theater. A beauty smiles happily over her shoulder at a man at right, and at left, a commoner holding a gun over his shoulder gives the dancers a sly grin and a sideways glance. Nakamura Shikan IV appears in three roles. From left, the actors are Onoe Baiko V, Nakamura Shikan IV, Iwai Hanshiro VIII, Nakamura Shikan IV, Onoe Kikugoro V, and Nakamura Shikan IV. Nice expressive figures and vibrant color.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 14" x 28 1/8"

Condition - Nice color and detail. A couple small repairs and creases.
