Tattooed Suikoden Heroes Battling, 1886 - Terrific kabuki scene of two tattooed heroes from the Suikoden battling with long wooden poles in a snowy landscape. At left Kyumonryu Shishin, whose nickname is "Nine Tattooed Dragons," lunges forward with a pole, his hair flying wildly around his face. The "Flower Priest" Rochishin counter the blow with a large club. His tattoo of flowering cherry trees covers his entire body. Amazing color and detail in this fantastic design, with the large colorful figures dominating the muted winter setting. A dynamic composition adds to the drama. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Danjuro IX and Ichikawa Sadanji I. A fantastic subject for a collector interested in tattoo prints.
