Series; Eight Views of Edo

Evening Glow at Ochanomizu, 1867 - Charming scene of Prince Genji and beauties enjoying the view of Ochanomizu from the upper story of a house. He leans against the railing with a small cup of sake in hand, a meal set out on a red lacquer tray on the floor nearby. The famous covered bridge stretches over the Kanda River at lower right, with a beauty on shore directing a man carrying two baskets. Mt. Fuji rises in the distance above the red glow along the horizon as the sun sets. The first time we've seen this Kunichika design.
