Comments - Fantastic depiction of the great Mino-Owari earthquake on October 28, 1891. The massive quake hit Mino and Owari provinces hard, with widespread loss of life and damage, with subsequent fires destroying much property. Here, flame and smoke rise from the rubble as buildings collapse and a tower at upper left falls. People race through the streets to escape the debris, while others are lifeless on the ground. A striking design and a dramatic depiction of this historic event.
