Yokohama Shinbun, No. 13, 1874 - Unusual depiction of a beauty attacking a man with a short sword. She kneels on top him, pinning him to the ground as she prepares to stab him, her kimono sleeve caught between her teeth to keep it out of the way. A text panel above is topped with a scrolling vine and flowers. A rarely seen series illustrating sensational stories taken from various different newspapers (shinbun).

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 8 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - Good color and detail. Horizontal folds. Stitching holes at side, thinning at corners, repaired. Slight creasing.
