The 47 Ronin - Handsome design from an untitled series featuring actors in the kabuki play "The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers" (Kanadehon Chushingura), the drama based on the true story of the 47 ronin. Each print depicts one or two actors in a scene from the play, the large expressive figures set against a softly shaded night sky framed by a purple border with the white inverted comma crest of Oboshi Yuranosuke, the leader of the ronin. These colorful designs are a nice choice for anyone interested in this famous story of honor and revenge.

Condition - Nice color and detail. Backed with paper. A couple creases on beauty's face, light rippling, light vertical line where backing papers meet.
