Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a beauty holding a baby to her chest, leaning forward with an eager smile as she waves at the rogue in the center. He glares back at her with a frown, gripping his cased sword in one hand. A few loose hairs at the side of his face give him a disheveled appearance. Outside the door at left, a man waits beside a palanquin, looking up with an angry expression. At right, woodblock prints decorate a low folding screen. From left, the actors are Ichikawa Sadanji, Onoe Kikugoro, and Iwai Hanshiro. Nice large expressive figures set off by a deep red background.
