Tea Ceremony - Charming scene of women taking part in a tea ceremony. At right, the hostess uses a long-handled dipper to dip water from a container heating on a floor hearth in the floor. A tea bowl, whisk, and tea caddy are set on the floor nearby. Her three guests sit quietly, smiling, their hands in their laps. Lovely detail in the elegant kimono and obi fabrics. Includes burnishing on the hair, the black obi, and the black trim of the hearth, and embossing on the white kimono collars. A beautifully detailed design.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 14" x 27 7/8"

Condition - Good detail. A few small repairs, creasing, slight curling.
