Playing Ball - Lovely scene of two young women playing with colorful balls on the verandah of a home. The beauty in the center kneels as she bounces a ball, the other women watching her with amusement. A flowering plum tree and pink and red camellia blossoms frame the view at right. Wonderful detail in the beautiful kimono fabrics, with embossing on the white kimono collars and trim, and burnishing on the hair. A charming Chikanobu triptych showing the pastimes of upper-class women.
