Lumberyard Sequential Print Process Set - Fantastic and rare complete woodblock print process set of a view of a lumberyard. This terrific set of the original painting and 14 woodblock prints demonstrates the different stages involved in the printing process. The first image is the original painting which features a date of 1916 within the circular artist's seal at lower left, followed by 7 pairs featuring the individual color block along with a print showing the color added in sequence. Two blocks include two colors of pigment.
A fascinating and unusual look into the technical process required to print charming shin-hanga landscape design. It is most unusual to have the original painting with the group, which offers wonderful insight into translating a painting into a print. A rare find and a great choice for a collector.
