The standing beauty looks carefully at the back of her lacquer mirror, her image darkly reflected in the surface of the lacquered object. Her companion kneels with a mirror on her lap, her robe loosely tied around her. Her pale blue kimono is patterned with tiny white dots and bordered with origami cranes. Beautifully detailed with delicate embossing in the white kimono collar. A fascinating Edo era subject.
