Publisher - Adachi from a rare series of Edo masterwork designs. Adachi publisher seal in margin or on reverse.

Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Lily, The Courtesan Morokoshi of the Echizen Establishment Seated at a Writing Table - Fine Eishi reprint depicting the beautiful courtesan Morokoshi sitting in thought at a low writing desk, a brush in hand and a dreamy expression on her face. The title cartouche features a lily, the flower to which the beauty is compared. A lovely portrait, beautifully detailed with a deeply embossed flower, leaf, and scroll pattern on the white obi.
