Illustration of Arrangements for the Raid by the Loyal Retainers, 1847 - 1852 - Fantastic depiction of the 47 ronin preparing for the raid on Moronao's mansion. They are gathered in the street outside the mansion, some men tying sashes or helmets or sandals, while one samurai takes swords from a black wicker chest. Oboshi Yuranosuke, the leader of the ronin can be seen at right wearing a red vest with white dots over the ronin's traditional black and white dogtooth bordered robes. A fascinating image of the moments before the night attack to avenge their master's death.

Condition - Nice detail. Vertical folds. Loss at corner, wormholes, repaired. A few creases.
