Comments - Handsome scene of a Lord Ashikaga Yoshimasa's procession walking along the shore of a river as they travel to Higashiyama. The leading attendants carry heavy trunks and covered standards, followed by men with tall furry white standards and samurai with their kimono tucked up for easier traveling. The daimyo rides on a dappled horse at right, a servant sheltering him with an umbrella. Noblemen line the road dressed in formal robes and tall black court caps, bowing respectfully. Houses crowd the opposite shore with mountains rising in the distance. A nicely detailed subject with soft shading in the water and sky, and delicate embossing on the white standards.
