Comments - Great depiction of the archer Minamoto no Tametomo (also known as Chinzei Hachiro Tametomo) sinking the leading ship of his enemy Mochimitsu's fleet with a single arrow. He perches upon the rocky shore at left, his gripping his bow, having just released the arrow, the wind blowing his robes about him. In the center, Tametomo's mistress, Sasaraye, who is armed with a naginata, and at right, his retainer Oniyasha, holding an iron club, watch as the ship flounders in the sea, the single arrow piercing its thick hull. A fantastic illustration of this legendary feat, with expressive figures and rugged natural setting.
