Kanto Shoroku, 1859 - Three-color Shading Made to Order Handsome kabuki design from a Toyokuni III series featuring actors as otokodate or street knights. Each wears a matching geometric print kimono and tall wooden geta clogs. The figures are set against diagonal bands shaded with pink, green, and blue, featuring repeated crests in white, which creates a striking backdrop. The series title refers to these shaded bands. An attractive portrait from a rarely seen series.

Condition - Nice detail. Vertical fold at side. Small losses at edges, slight thinning, repaired. Slight rubbing.
