Nakamura Shikan as Onigadake and Ichikawa Ebizo as Akitsushima, 1832

Comments - Intriguing kabuki scene of two rival sumo wrestlers fighting with swords in front of a bench, featuring Nakamura Shikan as Onigadake at left and Ichikawa Ebizo as Akitsushima at right. Onigadake blocks a blow from his enemy with his own sword, holding it between both hands, grimacing with rage. Akitsushima glares at him with an angry frown, lifting the edge of his kimono to reveal a green lining patterned with monkeys. Nice expressive figures.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 19"

Condition - Good detail. Vertical folds at sides. A few repairs and creases, slight rubbing at edges.
