Comments - Great kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Yaozo V changing his name to Seki Sanjuro III as Heiji Kagetake in Act II of the play "Hiragana seisuiki" at the Ichimura Theater. He stares over his shoulder with an angry scowl, clenching his hand before him. He wears a matching kimono and coat patterned with arrow fletches, his shorter hair sticking up atop his head and his topknot combed forward. A verse by the actor appears at top. A bold design.
