Dewa Province: Ichikawa Saruzo I as Iwaki Anju-hime with Taiomaru, 1853 - Interesting kabuki portrait of Saruzo I as Princess Iwaki Anju with the young boy Taiomaru at her side. She looks up with a happy smile as she waves her sleeve, her kimono decorated with white tie-dyed stars and maple leaves. At inset at upper left shows an older man with white hair holding a red-hot poker. A rare chuban size series by Toyokuni III. Includes a dusting of mica across the top of the night sky.
