Beauty Tying an Obi Kakemono, 1844 - 1845 - Lovely Kunisada design of a beauty tying an obi behind her back. She looks down with a slight smile, concentrating on her task. She wears a blue gray kimono with an allover floral design, tied with a brown obi featuring black circular motifs that reverses to a blue and white print. Her hair is piled high on her head, adorned with a decorative comb and a few hairpins and ribbons, a few wisps falling loose at the side of her face. The inset at upper left shows a bolt of cloth trimmed with tiny tassels. A beautiful kakemono or vertical diptych from this interesting series.
