Sawamura Tossho I as both Washi no Dan no Nofu and Miyatogawa no Tsunauchi in the Dance of the Five Elements, 1840 - Interesting kabuki scene featuring Sawamura Tossho I in two roles as both Washi no Dan no Nofu and Miyatogawa no Tsunauchi in the five-part shosa or dances in the play "Hina Asobi Wago no Aisho" at the Nakamura Theater. Both men look up with angry grimaces as they watch an enormous eagle or hawk carrying a child through the sky. The man at left is a fisherman, with a net over his shoulder and a straw apron tied around his waist.
