Clearing Weather at Shinmeigu Shrine

Series; Eight Views of Shiba

Clearing Weather at Shinmeigu Shrine - Charming portrait of a beauty preparing tea, holding a small basket with tea leaves in one hand and a chopstick in the other, a teacup and black lacquer tray nearby. She grins happily as she looks back over her shoulder. She wears a blue striped kimono with a faint embossed pattern of flying bats, over a red under robe with a yellow and black phoenix print collar. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth knot, tied with a pink ribbon and adorned with a small comb, a floral hairpin, and a hairpin with a bird in flight. A flower-shaped inset at upper right depicts Shinmeigu Shrine. A handsome design.
