Courtesan in a Chrysanthemum Kimono Kakemono

Comments - Attractive kakemono or vertical diptych of a courtesan holding a roll of tissues to her cheek. She wears a black kimono patterned with large chrysanthemum blossoms over a red under robe with a geometric spiral print, tied with an obi featuring similar floral patterns. Her hair is pulled back into a sleek bun tied with a ribbon and adorned with two combs and many hairpins. A striking Edo era beauty design.

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Two separate panels. Horizontal folds. A few small holes, repaired. Slight creasing, a few small spots, ink mark. Please see photos for details.
