The Great Battle of Yamazaki, 1847 - 1852 - Fascinating panoramic view of the Battle of Yamazaki taking place along the shore between forces of the Akechi and Oda clans. Fighting takes place between samurai on foot and on horseback in the foreground at left and in the middleground. Additional troops are massed in the center and at right, with a row of archers on horseback ready behind a group of foot soldiers. The banners and standards of approaching troops can be seen along the edges of the mountains in the distance. An intriguing subject with wonderful detail and fine bokashi shading on the water and hills.
