Scene from Sekai o Hana Oguri Gaiden, 1851 - Interesting scene from the kabuki play "Sekai o Hana Oguri Gaiden" at the Nakamura Theater. In the center, Ariwara Narihira carries a wooden chest, leaning forward with a slightly worried expression as he looks at the elderly Numata Junsai at right. At upper right, the samurai Oguri Sotan looks over his shoulder with a suspicious frown at Mancho's daughter Okoma at upper left, who smiles eagerly. In the center, Mancho's widow Omaki watches her daughter with a frown, while at lower left, Makanaibaba Okuma waves her hand. From left, the actors are Arashi Otohachi III, Iwai Kumesaburo II, Nakayama Ichizo I, Bando Hikosaburo IV, Bando Sajuro I, and Bando Takesaburo I. Nice expressive figures in a well detailed setting.
