Wakana no ge, Chapter 35 - Attractive portrait of Yae, the wife of the samurai Sakuramaru, kneeling beneath a flowering cherry tree. She looks up with a smile, holding a wooden pestle in one hand, a mortar on the ground nearby. She wears a tan kimono patterned with flowing water and tie-dyed blossoms, tied with a black obi, a bamboo print apron tied protectively over her robe. The inset above shows a kitten about to pounce on a football. Nicely detailed with soft bokashi shading in the background.
