Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a commoner attacking a man with an umbrella. The commoner frowns worriedly as he grips a sword with both hands. His intended victim looks up with alarm as he sprawls on the ground, one sleeve of his black kimono pushed down to the waist, his messy hair giving him a disheveled appearance. At left, a beauty watches from the foot of a bridge, smiling sweetly as if unaware of the drama taking place at right. Willow branches frame the night sky above. Nice expressive figures.
