Festivities at the Flower Pavilion, 1856

Comments - Charming scene of people gathered in an elegant mansion. At left, a young princess sits on a cushion leaning against a padded armrest, shyly hiding her chin with her smile as the kneeling woman below gestures with her hand. At left, a beauty peers through a window in a low folding screen with a rolled up blind. At upper right, a woman carrying a tray walks down a hallway towards the group. The room opens onto a view of a lake framed by stone lanterns and blossoming cherry trees. An attractive design with wonderful detail in the fabrics and furnishings.

Artist - Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 19 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - Good detail. A few creases at edges and small repairs.
