Fashionable Brocade Patterns of the Imperial Palace, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Charming scene of a beauty kneeling beside a black lacquer makeup chest with a mirror atop it during her morning routine, patting the side of her face dry as she smiles over her shoulder at her companion. The matron shows her two bolts of fabric from among the stacks carefully wrapped in paper on the floor nearby. At left, a beauty holds a kimono for the young woman to wear after she completes her beauty routine. A charming design with wonderful detail in the furnishings, including brushes and combs, a basin of water, a candle on a stand, and a writing set on a low red lacquer table at upper right. The first time we've seen this complete triptych.

Condition - Good detail. Slight separation at ends of vertical fold at side of each panel, wormholes, repaired.
