Series; Scenes in Moonlight

Moon of the Lattice Window: Onoe Kikugoro IV as Tamagiku of the Naka-Manjiya, 1857 - Lovely kabuki scene of Onoe Kikugoro IV as the courtesan Tamagiku of the Naka-Manjiya. She looks up from the long letter she is writing to admire the full moon glowing softly in the evening sky through the lattice window. She wears a soft purple kimono patterned with colorful floral and leaf medallions, over a red tie-dyed under robe trimmed with a purple print. A kimono hangs over a black lacquer stand at left, and a writing set rests on the floor before her. An attractive design, nicely composed and detailed.
