Attacking a Beauty, 1864 - Dramatic kabuki scene of a short-haired commoner attacking a beauty with a huge knife. He raises the weapon above his head as the beauty recoils in fright, throwing her hand up defensively. The fellow at right grabs the commoner around the waist, trying to restrain him. A bold design with large expressive figures set against a softly shaded night sky. Includes embossing on the beauty's pink kimono and white collar, embossing on the dotted cloth wrapped about the rogue's neck, burnishing on the rogue's black undergarment, and handsome woodgrain impression on the background.

Condition - A clean print with nice detail. A couple light creases at edges.
