Fuji," Hokusai began this wonderful series of one hundred black and white prints in 1834. Devoted to the sacred Mt. Fuji, each image reflects the importance of Fuji in the everyday lives of the Japanese during the Edo era, and demonstrates Hokusai's incredible draftsmanship and compositional skill. From land and sea, in summer and winter, viewed through an open window and in the reflection of the water, Fuji appears majestic and timeless. These dynamic Hokusai prints are a terrific choice to collect or display.
