Minamoto no Yorimasa and I no Hayata with a Performing Nue; Kumagai Buying Noodles from Atsumori, 1854 - Fantastic and rare comic design featuring warriors in amusing versions of events. In the top scene, instead of killing the nue, a legendary monster with the head of a monkey, the body of a badger, the legs of a tiger, and a serpent for a tale, the samurai Minamoto no Yorimasa and I no Hayata have captured one and trained it to dance about to the beat of a drum. Below, instead of the Minamoto warrior Kumagai Naozane killing the young Taira warrior Atsumori at the Battle of Ichi-no-Tani, Atsumori serves as a noodle vendor with Kumagai flagging him down with his fan. The first time we've seen this great design.
