Famous Places in Edo: Asukayama - Handsome view of Asukayama or Asuka Hill in spring, the grounds crowded with visitors enjoying the blossoming cherry trees. A beauty playfully chases after her companion, while a girl and a young woman watch with amusement. Picnickers have spread mats beneath the trees, and a low fence surrounds the stone monument at left, which was erected to commemorate the opening of Asuka Park to the public in 1737 by the 8th Tokugawa Shogun Yoshimune. A charming subject.

Condition - Nice detail. A few small losses and holes, repaired. Folds at edges, creasing throughout.
