Teahouse Waitress with Cup Stand Kakemono by Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Original Eisen (1790 - 1848) Japanese Woodblock Print
Teahouse Waitress with Cup Stand Kakemono

Comments - Attractive kakemono or vertical diptych of a teahouse waitress carrying a black lacquer cup stand. Her brown kimono is patterned with tiny green gourds, and she lifts her green and brown geometric print apron as she walks along on tall wooden geta clogs, a dotted towel draped over her arm. Her hair is arranged in a smooth bun adorned with a lacquer comb and decorative hairpins, a few loose wisps framing her face. A charming design.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 27 5/8" x 9 3/8"

Condition - Good detail. Backed with paper. Horizontal folds. Creasing throughout, a few small spots.
