The Seven Lucky Gods Kakemono - Fantastic design of the Seven Lucky Gods gathered together. At lower right, Hotei relaxes against his magic bag of endless food and treasure as Fukurokuju reads to him from a scroll. The only female Lucky God, Benzaiten, sits behind them holding a biwa or Japanese lute. At the top, Ebisu and Daikoku unroll another scroll, a lucky red snapper fish sitting in a basket atop a bail of rice nearby. A great image of these popular deities, the composition nicely suited to the vertical diptych or kakemono format.
