Bando Hikosaburo V as a Street Night in a Crow Kimono, 1866

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of Bando Hikosaburo V as an otokodate or street knight, frowning angrily as he fastens a blue cloth around his neck. His kimono features a striking pattern of crows in flight, their beaks open as they caw. The background features a variety of geometric patterns in blue, orange, and green, adding graphic interest to the design. A nice expressive figure.
